Google, the American technology behemoth, has released a major update for Wear OS smartwatches. Users can now use Google Maps on their Wear OS smartwatches without first pairing it with a smartphone.
The technology company announced the feature a few months ago and is now available. Wear OS-powered smartwatches will now provide users with direct turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps without the need to pair the device with a smartphone. If your device supports standalone LTE connectivity, this update will be available. This means a user must own a SIM-enabled Wear OS smartwatch to run Google Maps directly in her smartwatch.
In addition, in order to use Google Guides, clients must have an active LTE plan with continuous availability. The smartwatch is also expected to be connected to the handset once to enable this component, after which the rest of the exercises will begin.
Meanwhile, Google has announced that it is completing start to finish encryption for Gmail on internet browsers. Clients will want to send and receive scrambled messages both within and outside of your space, which is currently in beta. According to Google, the email body and connections, including inline images, will be encoded from beginning to end.
"Google Workspace already encrypts all data at rest and in transit between our facilities using the most recent cryptographic standards. "Client-side encryption helps to strengthen the confidentiality of your data while addressing a wide range of data sovereignty and compliance needs," the company wrote in a blog post.
For those who are unaware, client-side encryption has been available for quite some time on Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Google Meet, and Google Calendar (beta).
Clients with Google Workplace Venture Plus, Training Plus, or Schooling Standard can apply for the Gmail client-side encryption (CSE) beta, according to Google. The beta programme is accepting applications until January 2023. Clients will be required to present their Gmail CSE Beta Test Application, which will include information such as the email address, Undertaking ID, and test bunch area.
